Synopsis
In the Dakota Territories of 1879, a rescue party sets out to find a family of settlers who have mysteriously vanished. The posse is led by experienced Indian fighters Will Parcher and John Clay and includes a naïve teenager hoping to prove himself a man and an ex-slave looking for redemption.
The Burrowers is a Western horror film that follows the group as they venture deeper into the wilderness, encountering strange and terrifying creatures lurking in the shadows.
The film is based on an original short film Blood Red Earth directed by Petty in 2005.
