Texas residents may be able to see the Aurora Borealis tonight
The aurora borealis could be visible in parts of Texas thanks to heightened solar activity.
The aurora does not need to be directly overhead but can be observed from as much as a 1000 km away when the geomagnetic conditions are right.
SAN ANTONIO – It was a rare sight across parts of the South Central Texas sky Friday night.
A long-exposure photo shows the aurora borealis over Portland, Maine, on May 10.
This is the fastest way to quickly find out what kind of geomagnetic conditions are to be expected over the next 3 days.
