Syracuse Orange football's offensive line looks to pave the way for success in 2023
Orange return experienced group up front
After struggling to protect quarterback Garrett Shrader for much of the 2022 season, the Syracuse Orange football team is hoping that its offensive line can take a step forward in 2023.
The Orange return four starters from last year's team, including All-ACC performer Matthew Bergeron at center. Bergeron is a 6-foot-4, 300-pound junior who started all 12 games for Syracuse last season.
Still a lot of unknowns for Orange offensive line
The Orange will also need to find a replacement for left tackle Dakota Davis, who graduated after last season. Redshirt freshman Enrique Cruz is the favorite to take over for Davis, but he will be challenged by junior Kalan Ellis and sophomore Josh Ilaoa.
The Orange also have some question marks at right guard, where redshirt sophomore Chris Bleich and junior Darius Tisdale are competing for the starting job.
If Orange can get consistent play from offensive line, they could be a contender in ACC
If the Orange can get consistent play from their offensive line, they could be a contender in the ACC. Shrader is a talented quarterback who has the potential to be one of the best in the conference. Running back Sean Tucker is also one of the most dynamic players in the ACC.
With a strong offensive line, the Orange could be a force to be reckoned with in 2023.
